Number of connections limit.

After choosing “Add”, you will see the number of connections limit settings window. In this window there are the following fields:

  • destination,
  • protocol,
  • port,
  • source,
  • number of connections,
  • apply,
  • duration,
  • the “limit to ICS” checkbox.

You can check which values are acceptable when you place the cursor over the field, or you can choose a value from the drop-down list containing the objects that are already known to ICS CUBE. . There is three ways this rule can be applied depending on the object it is applied to:

To objectWill be applied to a group or a user. With this way, each group (even if it contains sub-groups in it) will have the connection number limit that is set in the rule.
For each userWill be applied to a group or a user. With this way, each user, including users in groups, will have the connection number limit that is set in the rule.
For each ipWill be applied to a group or a user. With this way, each IP-address that user has, including users in groups, will have the connection number limit, that is set in the rule.

If the “limit to ICS” checkbox is marked, the rule will also limit number of connections made to ICS CUBE (for example, access to the ftp or web-interface).
