The “Webfilter SkyDNS” module is placed in the “Security” menu.
Besides the standard traffic categories ICS CUBE contains a synchronized service of content filtration named SkyDNS. Principle of operation for Webfilter SkyDNS is the same as for regular ICS CUBE filtration. Automatic database updates from SkyDNS server are the main difference of it.
Webfilter SkyDNS checks websites before it’s opened and blocks fishing websites and websites with malicious code.
The “Webfilter SkyDNS” module has a three tabs: “Webfilter SkyDNS”, “Settings” and “Log”.
On the “Webfilter SkyDNS” tab you can see status of this service and the “Disable” button (or “Enable”, if the module is disabled).
The “Webfilter SkyDNS” service is responsible for the operation of the Webfilter SkyDNS, which works with opened websites categorization.
The widget of the “Webfilter SkyDNS” service also displays: license expires date and the log for the current date.
Important: by default the “Webfilter SkyDNS” service in not configured. To enable it you need to check the box “Use in proxy” in the “Settings” tab of current module or to check the box “Use SkyDNS” in the “Settings” tab of the “Proxy” module. The “Webfilter SkyDNS” is an optional module. You need to buy a licensing key for use it.
On this tab, you can determine the cache size that will be used for data processing and specify a “Scan timeout” from the cloud service.
For scan web-traffic going through ICS CUBE proxy server you need to check the box “Use in proxy” after activation of Webfilter SkyDNS license. This checkbox is similar to the “Use SkyDNS” checkbox in the “Settings” tab of the “Proxy” module.
The “Log” tab displays summary of all system messages of the corresponding services with date and timestamp. The log is divided into pages, using the “forward” and “back” buttons it is possible to go from page to page, or enter the number of the desired page directly.
Log entries are highlighted in color depending on the type of message. Normal system messages are marked in white, system status messages (on / off, user connection) are green, warnings are yellow, errors are red.
In the upper right corner of the log is a search bar. And the ability to select the period for displaying the event log. By default, the log displays events for the current date. If necessary, you can save the log data to a file by clicking the “Export” button or delete the log data for a certain period by clicking the “Delete logs” button.
